The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Posted by Jackie on August 21, 2008 on 12:19 pm | In Books, Uncategorized | No CommentsIn this book, there are four kids that moved from London to a creepy house because there was a war in London. Then they decided one night to explore the house and came to this one room with a wardrobe. While the others left , Lucy stayed and went in the wardrobe. She held out her hands so she wouldn’t bump her head in the back of the wardrobe but it kept going. Then she felt something crunching under her boots and she felt the ground but it was powdery and cold. She saw light in the distance, but when she got there she saw it was only a post. Lucy thought “what was a lamp post doing in the middle of the woods?”

Then she saw a faun. It asked Lucy if she wanted to come to his house.
Update The faun got out tea and cake. Then he played his flute. Lucy felt like she was going to fall asleep but didn’t. After the faun stopped, Lucy asked if she could go. The faun started to cry, he had been a bad faun.
Mr. Tumnus (the faun) said, “My grandfather would never have done what I did.”
Lucy asked, “What?”
“I’m working for the White Witch.”, said Mr. Tumnus. Then the faun led Lucy back to the lamppost and she went back through the wardrobe. She told her brothers and sister that there was a magical world in the wardrobe. Everyone laughed and asked “Did you name a new country?”
The next day they played hide-n-seek. Lucy hid in the wardrobe, Edmund followed her and thought he’d find her in a second. But when he got into the wardrobe, he felt something wet. When he brushed through two pine trees and found himself in a white world.
My favorite character was Aslan. He sacrificed himself to give Edmund a second chance. Aslan was a lion and was a special lion to bring back spring and summer.

Sacagawea’s Adventure
Posted by Jackie on July 24, 2008 on 4:40 pm | In Books, Interesting People, Uncategorized | 2 CommentsSacagawea’s Adventure was traveling to the Pacific Ocean.
If you look closely on the dollar coin, you’ll find her baby, Pomp. She lived with the Shoshone. She had an older brother named, Cameahwait. She was kidnapped by the Minnetaree tribe when she was 10 or 11. This enemy tribe had guns. Sacagawea was a prisoner among strangers. Her family home was hundreds of miles away. A fur trader from Canada often visited the village where Sacagawea lived. His name was Charbonneau and he married Sacagawea.
During the adventure , she was walking on land with Lewis and Clark and it was very foggy. Charbonneau was driving the boat and there were 7 other men in the boat with him. The boat got hit a big gust of wind and it filled with water. All their supplies floated away but Sacagawea caught most of them.

Posted by Amber on July 24, 2008 on 4:33 pm | In Animals, Books, Ocean Creatures, Uncategorized | 1 CommentDolphins can jump more than 20 ft in the air. Did you know that dolphins have belly buttons? I laughed when I read that. Dolphins like octopus and squid. Dolphins in a group means a school. Arguing dolphins push each other to see who is stronger. Dolphins in a school keep each other safe.
